Staying at home can be a challenge, too - particularly at family occasions. Our granddaughter stays with us Monday to Friday, and we do our best to ensure she eats a healthy, balanced and nutritious diet. This Easter weekend, other members of her family gave her egg-shaped cookies, bags of gummy bears, Kinder eggs, and a bag of "chocolate" shapes. The last item was the most toxic: the bag was about 200g, and a quarter of it weighed in at 210 calories, 11 grams of fat (most of it saturated), and 24 grams of sugar. Our family just doesn't get it.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a cultural problem: http://60.commonsensedesign.net/60Detail.php?12
