The Simplest Way to Build Your Body

The first gym I ever joined was a Nautilus only gym back in 1977. I was 15 years old and wanted to be a bodybuilder. I remember walking into the gym and seeing all the 1970’s brown colored equipment. An average built guy in his 40s greeted me at the door; he had just...

Should You Eat Fats And Carbs Together For Weight Loss?

Food combination diets have come in and out of popularity over the years. I’ve been watching some videos on Youtube lately promoting the diet theory of not combining carbs and fats in the same meal. I think this type of diet might be the next trend. Let's take a look...

How Many Calories Should I Eat To Lose Weight?

At least once in your life you have to count calories if you want to be successful in long term weight loss. When my personal training clients complain to me that they can’t lose weight no matter what they do, my first question to them is “How many calories are you eating each day?” I know a lot of the popular diets over the years claim that you don’t have to count calories to lose weight, but in my opinion you do (….)

Simple Diet Plan

It’s debatable what the simplest diet on earth is but one of the most popular on-line bloggers wrote an article called The Simplest Diet for Lean Fitness. I want to start expressing other people’s point of view in this fitness blog and so I’m going to start looking for other resources to help my readers live a happy and healthy lifestyle. This article comes from Zen Habits which is one of my favorite life style blogs. Zen Habits was voted one of the top 25 blogs of 2010 with over 200,000 subscribers(…)

Intermittent Fasting Resource

I have been talking about the weight loss benefits of fasting on this fitness blog for a few months now. Since I truly believe it is one of the best ways to control your weight, I put together the ultimate intermittent fasting resource. When I first started experimenting with fasting I did a lot of research and found some great information from some of the best bloggers and experts in the field.

After studying all the information I could find, I concluded that the best program to follow is Brad Pilon’s Eat Stop Eating Program. If you want to try intermittent fasting do it right by following a proven system. To help you decide if it is right for you, I wanted to let you see all the research that I did (…)

Having Trouble Losing Weight

If you are having trouble losing weight, you need to set goals and put a little pressure on yourself to reach them. You can do this by telling other people how much weight you want to lose by a particular date. Without setting a date, and just saying to yourself that you want to lose 20 pounds, may not be enough.

By telling family and friends that you have to drop a certain amount of weight in a certain timeframe, you are setting yourself up for success by making a real commitment. I have always felt that the main reason people lose so much weight on TV shows like The Biggest Loser is because their weight loss goals are on TV for millions of people to see. Even though I don’t agree with the weight loss approach used on The Biggest Loser (in my opinion they over-train the participants to unhealthy levels), it works. It’s the pressure they put on themselves by going on the show and exposing their weight loss goals to the whole world that produces such great results(…)
