One of the supplements I take every day is omega-3 fish oil. Its becoming harder and harder to find goods sources of omega-3 oils in the US. Fish is one of the few foods that is high in omega-3 oils but wild caught fish is expensive and not always available or in season.
After reading about all the proven benefits of omega-3 oils a few years ago I started taking a fish oil supplement. I made a video this past winter about the fish oil supplement I take every day and it is being featured on Men’s Fitness web site called Code Liver Oil is a Great Source of Vitamin D. Check out the video below about the cod liver oil supplement I take every day and some of the benefits of taking it.
Benefits of Taking Omega-3 Oils
Decreased risk of heart disease and cancer
Improvements in brain function and mood
Reduced inflammation in joints
Lowering triglycerides and increasing HDL (good cholesterol)
Helps control insulin
Omega-3 oils are like taking natural medicine. I take 3 or more grams everyday. Make sure you check with your doctor; however, before taking any supplement.
Let me know if you’re taking a fish oil supplement and if it has helped you in any way.

My personal numbers show some improvement. I do take Lipitor (family history), but my numbers hit a plateau. About nine months ago, I started taking Omega supplements on regular basis.
My overall count went from 139 to 123. HDL went from 41 to 43. LDL went from 74 to 60. Triglycerides went from 121 to 99. The first number was taken in 12/09 and the recent number on 7/6/10.
I have not seen any improvement in joint inflammation, something I would really like. I am a 58 year-old male, with a moderate fitness program.
I know this article is a bit old, but what are your thoughts on Krill oil? I have been taking Krill oil for a while now and I have heard from Dr.’s like Dr. Oz and Dr. Mercola that this is better to take than Fish oil.
My name is Mike Cola (yeah that is me in the pic above). I've been called a "Contrarian" since I believe that most mainstream fitness approaches are extremely inefficient.
I achieved the look in that photo just training 3 times per week. My specialty is helping people reach peak condition without having to hit the gym 6-7 times per week.
Make sure and get my free "Forever 27" workout plan above. This is the strategy I teach my clients to have a 20-something body, regardless of their age.

Hey BK,
I’m glad the omega supplements are working for you.
Thanks for the comment.
