In this first episode, Mike Cola explains the type of content that will be covered on the Fitness Contrarian podcast.  Then he talks about how he got interested in and started in the fitness industry. He discusses the first gym he joined back in 1978 (an Arthur Jones gym) and works his way up to present day. His discussion is somewhat of a 30 year retrospective of how gyms were in the past and how they are today.

Mike was taking a two-hour walk while recording this podcast…. He might sound slightly out of breath.
